Lodges in Queen Elizabeth National Park: As the most popular national game park in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park needs a lot of accommodation facilities. over the years, the number of lodges and hotels where you can stay as a visitor has increased. With many choices currently available, the new task is choosing the kind of lodge you want.

To choose a safari lodge (or any accommodation for that matter) you have to consider the various inclusive services and the price.

1. Mweya Safari Lodge

Perfectly located on the Mweya peninsular, Mweya Safari Lodge is one of the most popular places to stay in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The magnificent views of the park and the kazinga channel are beyond picturesque.

Accommodation starts at around 200 USD per person for a single room.

2. Mazike Valley Lodge

Mazike Valley Lodge was formerly known as Kyambura Game Lodge and has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and rebranding. Mazike Valley is located in Kyambura Gorge of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Perched on the walls of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the opulent cottages of the lodge offers breathtaking views of the vast game park, the Maramagambo Forest and the Kazinga Channel in the horizons.

3. Kyambura Gorge Lodge

Created by converting an old coffee store, Kyambura Gorge Lodge is a beautiful place with breathtaking views of Mount Rwenzori, the Savannah game park and the Kyambura Gorge. The style of the bandas is very crafty and gives a very intimate feeling.

The attention to detail and professional staff make for pleasant stays.

4. Jacana Safari Lodge

Jacana Safari Lodge is located inside Queen Elizabeth National Park on the edge of Lake Nyamusingure – the largest crater in Uganda. The lodge is built in a unique way and utilises lots of locally sourced material.

Jacana Lodge is well situated for you to tour Queen Elizabeth NP and engage in activities such as Wildlife game drives, launch cruise on Kazinga and Kayaking in lake Nyamusingure. The staff is very professional and make your stay enjoyable.

5. Ishasha Wilderness Camp

Ishasha Wilderness Camp is located in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National park along the Ntungwe river. This ideal location is great for enjoying the wilderness of the national park especially for those who want to see the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha.

The place is tranquil and relaxing – and at times some animals such as elephants will visit the campgrounds.

Formerly known as the Mweya Institute of Ecology, Mweya hostel is located on the Mweya peninsular just near the more Luxurious Mweya Safari Lodge. With an authentic hostel-like style, the lodge used shared facilities for the bathroom and offers both single and twin share occupancy options.

Accommodation starts at 40 USD for single occupancy.

14. Kazinga Channel View Resort

Overlooking the Kazinga Channel, the resort offers low-cost accommodation just outside of Queen Elizabeth National park. The Resort has rooms of various capacities as well as bandas which are located separately from the main block.

The resort also has a spacious camping ground which can be used by the guests who prefer camping. Accommodation rates start from as low as 40 USD for single occupancy.

15. Simba Safari Camp

As part of the Uganda Lodges’ group of safari lodges, Simba Camp greatly benefits from the shared quality of service. Simba Safari Camp offers incredible views of Lake George, Lake Kikorongo and the undulating Savannah.

Accommodation options include family cottages, twin rooms, dormitories and a campground. Accommodation rates start at 26 USD per person in the dormitory.
