Flying Doctors’ Society of Africa

The Flying Doctors’ Society of Africa was established in 1971 to spread medical outreach in Africa. The FDSA does this through their Outreach programme whose objective is to treat patients in hard-to-reach rural areas.

By training local health teams to carry out some medical work by themselves, they are able to provide medical access to people in extremely rural areas. These people wouldn’t have received any medical attention otherwise. They serve in more than 150 rural hospital throughout East Africa.

As a way of raising the funds for the outreach programme, the Flying Doctors’ Society of Africa provides Emergency Medical Evacuation services to its members throughout East Africa. This is in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

This coverage extends to all our employees as well as our guests in the unfortunate event of a serious medical emergency that require air evacuation. This means you can travel far and wide through East Africa with us, without any worrying thoughts.

Their membership costs are very fair, and it helps knowing that the funds will go towards helping communities in need.
