The Uganda Conservation Foundation (UCF) is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to protecting Uganda’s National parks, protected areas, and conservatives. UCF a fully registered and recognized organization in both Uganda and the United Kingdom.
The Uganda Conservation Foundation safeguards Uganda’s national parks through a range of projects which can be categorized as the following.
Recovering and reconnecting neglected protected areas – and supporting the recovery of their wildlife populations.
Mitigating human-wildlife conflict
Improving the livelihoods of communities that live close to protected areas and national parks.
UCF has a close work collaboration with its partners as well as international conservation and development organizations to come up with practical and workable solutions. These solutions are implemented in conjunction with the Uganda Wildlife Authority which is the official caretaker of all of Uganda’s National parks and other conserved/protected areas.
With the support of the UCF, Uganda Wildlife has continued to promote regional recovery, reduce poaching and reduce wildlife crime. This has been through the provision of tools and knowledge to both the communities as well as the brave rangers.
