Uganda Tourism Board

The Uganda Tourism Board is the official government body whose responsibility is marketing and promoting Uganda as a premier tourist destination in Africa. To do this, UTB works closely with other government agencies and private sector tour businesses – such as our self.

The Uganda Tourism Board doesn’t run any tours or safaris as its role is the marketing Uganda as a tourist destination. It represents the entire Uganda Tourism industry and promotes all destinations for the equal benefit of all.

UTB does, however, inspect all travel and accommodation companies to ensure that they conform to the best standards.

The functions of the Uganda Tourism Board include – but are not limited to the following:

• Formulating a marketing strategy for Ugandan Tourism.
• Promoting Uganda as an attractive and sustainable destination.
• Encouraging and promoting domestic tourism.
• Encouraging investment in the tourism sector.
• Supporting Tourism-related education and skills.

Our close partnership with the UTB helps in providing valuable input that is important for their decision-making and strategy formulation. We have also adapted our marketing strategy to holistically present Uganda as the preferred tourist destination in Africa.

In collaboration with the UTB, we have represented Uganda at various travel and tourism trade fares all over the world. It is through such fares like ITB Berlin and WTM that we have represented Uganda well. The result of this can be clearly seen with the steady rise in the number of visitors to Uganda (both in general and specifically for Exclusive African Safaris).

Exclusive African Safaris is a close partner with the Uganda Tourism Board for more than 10 years. Our close cooperation has led to great results for us, the toursim industry and the country as a whole.
